All American Homebrew Competition Maxed Out

Thank you to all our volunteer judges and stewards for being available to help at the upcoming All American Homebrew competition, we will have our hands full as we hit the 350 entry limit!  We will have lots of great beer styles and homebrew entries to handle, pour, and sample with entries from all over the country and abroad.  CMI would like to extend a big thank you to the Cincinnati Beer Fest team for helping us with the venue and providing the 40 beer fest tickets that we had to provide to the first volunteers registered to help us.  CMI also has the ability to offer discounted tickets for those who did not get the free ticket and volunteered, but still would like a deal to get into the beer fest, contact Tim McKee if interested. Don’t miss out on this great event!

Luke Shropshire, one of the brewers for Mt. Carmel Brewing Company, and the winner from last year’s All American will be having his Key Lime Gose poured at the Blank Slate Brewing booth at the beer fest, and be sure to stop by Mt.Carmel’s booth to see what Mike, Chris, Luke, and the rest of the production crew have been up to over there.  For more on this great event and all the breweries involved, click here! Good luck to all the entrants and please remember to sign up for the CMI Pub Crawl for a brewery hopping good time!  Clearly home brewing is still alive and thriving and Ohio has shown a strong presence in this upcoming All American! Best of luck to all the entrants!

We would also like to give a huge dose of good karma and luck to all the CMI members who have participated in the NHC project and registered beers for the 2016 National Homebrew Competition, from Indianapolis, IN to the nationals in Baltimore, MD, onward to glory CMI brewers!

CMI in 4th of July Parade

We are all set for our annual participation in the Northside 4th of July Parade. This Saturday Juky 4th, we stage in the big parking lot by the corner of Hamilton & AshTree for the Greater Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church behind the Uhaul Store. You will want to be unloaded & park down the hill by 11:15am at the McKie Center (1655 Chase Avenue, Cinti, OH) to take advantage of the free shuttle which will run you back up the hill to the staging area.

Wear some club apparel, bring yourself a coffee travel mug. The CMI Goat will be ready to go & Vice-President Timmy McPartlin will be present with 2 kegs of his finest brown, err, “coffee”.

Afterwards, there is FREE music in Jacob Hoffner Park & we will gather around the goat to unburden it of any additional “coffee” it may hold in store for us.

If you want to come by early that morning, there will be a special keg tapping with the brewers of Mad Tree at 8:30am for Kegs & Eggs as DoublePlusGood IPA will be released outside the brewery for the first time. Wake ‘n Bake will be there to take care of all your breakfast needs.

There will be 34 taps of liquid goodness flowing at Jacob Hoffner Park July 2nd, 3rd & 4th. All beer is $4 to $6 dollars, for the best craft beer list at your music festival in town.

Brew Out Season is Upon Us!

The weather is turning warm, birds are starting to cheep and pollen has all of our noses running which means only one thing… Its almost Brew-out season!

The 1st CMI Brewout is Sunday, May 24th at Jeff & Tammy Graff’s house.

Jeff and Tammy Graff have graciously opened up their property again for a brew out. Come out and brew out with us and enjoy the day. Also feel free to camp out.

From Jeff and Tammy….

Bring your own equipment, ingredients, propane and any homebrew you want to drink and share to our house. Brew your recipe on site and then take it home to ferment. (We have only Clermont County Municipal Water, if you do not want this water, bring your own) Members and friends are welcome to attend but be advised: This is a “beer friendly” event, children are welcome but know there will be alcohol consumed and propane burners in operation. Any unruly children or guests will be fed to the chickens. Also coming “empty handed” is not tolerated. You will be mocked and humiliated, then fed to the chickens. Brewing of your beer, mead or cider can start anytime after 9am on that Sunday. Come, relax, observe, sample, ask questions and fully enjoy the brewing experience. Tammy and I will be grilling hamburgers, hot dogs and corn at dinner. If you plan on staying for the feast, make a side dish. Don’t know what to make? Let me know and I can give you some ideas.
That being said, we will need to know how many people are planning on attending.
* PLEASE, RSVP back to Jeff or Tammy if you plan on coming.* (Email, call or Facebook)
This is a rain or shine event.

Space is available for camping, if needed.
We hope you can all come out and help us celebrate the start of the Summer Brewing Season.
Thank You,
Jeff & Tammy Graff
