For those that haven't seen this yet, the directions are below. Ale brewers: I am getting a 2-L jug of ale yeast from Guy @ Rock Bottom Friday. I think this means yeast from the bottom of one of his batches, so what would that do like 4-8 (5-gallon) batches? We can discuss at the meeting and divy it up, but I will probably use enough for 10 gallons. All-grain / early brewers, I should be there by 10:30, but feel free to arrive earlier if you want; just set up down by the garage. Right now weather looks good but if it rains we should have some tarps set up. see you there (or at the meeting). Mark your calendars... I will be hosting the May Brewout at a friend's house in Northside. (My house would not be suitable for a large brewout). when: Saturday May 12, 2007 where: 1651 Bruce Ave. in Northside (Cincinnati) directions: From I-75 take I-74 West to the first exit (#19/Spring Grove) and turn LEFT at the light (Colerain Ave). After about 0.3 miles veer left through the blinking light (Blue Rock); go about 0.1 mile to the next light and turn RIGHT (Kirby Ave). Go through the next light (Chase) to the stop sign in front of the large School building (Bruce Ave)... Turn RIGHT on Bruce. The house is about 0.1 mile on the right, a red brick house. Drop off your supplies and then find a parking spot on the street. From the west, take I-74 East to exit 18 (Beekman St / US-27 N / Colerain Ave). Turn LEFT onto Beekman St; about 0.4 miles to Colerain Ave. Turn RIGHT (East) onto Colerain Ave; about 0.2 miles to Kirby. Turn LEFT (North) onto Kirby Ave. Follow directions above. The brewout will start at noon or earlier. He does not have filtered water so if you are particular bring your own. There is a hose available for wort chillers, etc. I will supply some grillables, snacks & soft drinks, but side dishes are appreciated. If you get lost call me @ 513-703-9359. Bob Masters p.s. After the brewout (around 7-9pm) there is another little party there and then some people are going to the "Second Chance Prom" in Northside -- basically just a party with the Modulators playing. It is a BYO deal so well suited to home-brewers, with a suggested $10-15 donation at the door. The band is indoors but there is also an outdoor firepit and deck. http://www.modulators.com/cgi-bin/calendar.pl?month=5&view=Event&event_id=226 |
